I'm an amateur astronomer. I love eclipses. There are absolutely no good 'eclipse' rings that mimic or even appreciate a solar eclipse. ZERO. Don't bother looking. I've scoured the web. Most are really, really bad.
Necklaces I found seem to be better at solar eclipse tributes. After thoroughly searching the net, this one was as close as it got for me. It's an eclipse with the moon and the sun. The sun and the moon in the sky are really about the same size, but 'artists license' on this was acceptable to me.
The pointed parts of the sun don't stick out, so if you fall you won't stab yourself. (Some other necklaces out there have the rays of the sun sticking out like a knife...its scary looking and can hurt you if you fall).
I bought this one and got it in the mail. Its just what you see..beautiful....
BUT...(it will flip over on your neck)...and that side is NOT pretty. Looks pretty dull on that side.
So to get a "stereo" look to it, you have to order 2 of them. You loop the 2 together using the string and it looks great. At $50 each, it makes it $100, still a great deal if you are proposing :-)
I actually bought 4 of them. 2 for her and 2 for me.
Everything went perfect. The solar Eclipse was in Tahiti. It happened right on time. I gave her the necklace and asked. She said 'YES,' of course.
